Active holidaymakers are at home in sporty Kandersteg. An extensive network of paths for hiking and rambling takes you over high passes, along the shores of deep blue mountain lakes, through alpine meadows to glaciers and panoramic viewpoints. Experience the thrills of the Allmenalp climbing-route, or enjoy the breathtaking mountain scenery by the Oeschinensee lake.
Ramble through the wild Gastern valley or along the beautiful Taubensee lake and over the Gemmi Pass. Visit one of the most famous mountain lakes in Switzerland, the Blausee, or hike in spring/early summer to the beautiful Arvensee. Kandersteg is one of the largest cross-country ski areas in Switzerland. It boasts many miles of cross-country and langlauf trails, arranged in different circular routes. Kandersteg is a great place for downhill and cross-country skiers, and for skaters.
But the resort is also suitable for non-sporting people, with its many and varied possibilities, such as riding in horse-drawn sleighs, panoramic paths, winter walks, snow-shoe trails and a toboggan-run.
Thanks to the Lötschberg tunnel it takes no time to reach the Valais, whose extensive range of tourist opportunities awaits you.
